Discover the Taste of Aotearoa in Every Bottle
Two Māori owned producers. Two extraordinary native ingredients. One truly unique kombucha.
When we set out to create our newest kombucha, we knew one thing:
If we were going to pair kūmarahou with honey, it had to be the very best.
That's why we've partnered with Manawa Honey, whose Rewarewa Honey has been crowned the World's Best Tasting Honey. Harvested from the ancient forests of Te Urewera by Tūhoe beekeepers, this remarkable honey has earned international recognition for its exceptional flavour and depth, including the Grand First Prize at the prestigious Black Jar International Honey Tasting Contest in the USA and Gold at the London Honey Awards.
Combined with one of Aotearoa's treasured native botanicals, kūmarahou and our traditional fermentation process, the result is a kombucha unlike anything else.
What is Kūmarahou?
Kūmarahou (Pomaderris kumeraho) is one of New Zealand's treasured native plants, instantly recognisable by its brilliant golden flowers that bloom each spring across hillsides throughout Aotearoa.
For generations, kūmarahou has been valued within Rongoā Māori, the traditional healing practices of Māori, and continues to hold an important place in Māori culture and connection to the land.
Its delicate herbal notes make it the perfect botanical companion for naturally fermented kombucha.
Why Rewarewa Honey?
Most people have heard of mānuka honey.
Far fewer have discovered the extraordinary flavour of Rewarewa Honey.
Produced from the nectar of New Zealand's native rewarewa tree (Knightia excelsa), this distinctive honey is renowned for its rich amber colour, smooth malt-like character and full-bodied finish. Harvested from the pristine forests of Te Urewera, it has become internationally recognised as the Best Tasting Honey in the World through blind judging by expert honey tasters.
Its complex flavour perfectly complements the subtle herbal character of kūmarahou, creating a kombucha with remarkable balance and depth.
Two Indigenous Stories Coming Together
