As we get ready to move into our brand-new location, we’re excited to share some news that makes this next chapter even more meaningful: we’re welcoming a new team member - Richard, a brewing specialist with an extraordinary background and passion for kombucha.
Richard is a Diplom-Brewmaster trained at TU Munich, bringing with him more than 12 years of hands-on kombucha experience. His journey in fermentation began in high school with a single starter culture he received from a friend, a culture he’s cared for and brewed with ever since. That early curiosity grew into a career shaped by craftsmanship, science, and a deep respect for brewing traditions.
Back in Germany, as he explored where his brewing path might lead next, Richard began looking specifically for a Māori-owned business he could contribute to, a place where values, culture, and community mattered just as much as the craft itself. That search led him to us, and we’re incredibly grateful it did.
Richard’s experience spans a full brewing apprenticeship in Germany, leading the brewing team at Panimo Honkavuori in Finland, and running his own micro-kombucha brewery, one that was even featured at Braubeviale 2024. His expertise, innovation, and curiosity make him a perfect fit for our evolving team.
Outside the brewery, Richard brings the same energy and personality to everything he does. Whether he’s out on a bike, playing Scottish bagpipes, or exploring the outdoors, he’s always seeking inspiration, the kind that often finds its way back into his craft.
We couldn’t be more excited to have Richard join us as we move into our new space. This is a moment of growth, creativity, and momentum for our team, and Richard’s arrival feels like the perfect way to kick off what’s ahead.
